A wedding in the hills asks for a little more planning than a wedding in the city, and rewards it many times over. The first decision is always the season.
October through March is the classic window — clear skies, cool evenings and lawns that hold four hundred guests comfortably. April and May work beautifully for smaller gatherings held in the shade of the estate trees.
Guest accommodation is the second consideration. A single property buyout keeps every family together, which matters more than most couples expect on the morning of the haldi.
Finally, allow a day on either side of the wedding. Guests who travel five hours into the foothills deserve one slow morning by the river before the ceremonies begin.
